LaTisha Thomas
LaTisha A. Thomas (she/her/hers), LCSW-S graduated from Texas Woman’s University with a Bachelor's in Social Work and then attained her Master of Science in Social Work with a concentration in Community and Administrative Practice from the University of Texas at Arlington. She has over 13 years of service as a social worker at the Department of Veterans Affairs with experience ranging from discharge planning in the critical care unit to handling the training, clinical documentation, and supervisory duties to over 40 full-time social workers in the Care Transitions Section. LaTisha is now the owner and lead clinician of Tomorrow and Beyond, PLLC, an insurance-based psychotherapy clinical practice with a primary focus of partnering with individuals and families of the BIPOC community along their journey of healing post traumatic interactions. LaTisha also provides mentorship and supervision to both social work interns and LMSWs seeking higher licensure status. LaTisha’s specialties include mindfulness-based interventions, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and she certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). She has also been the professor of record in the following social work courses, Social Work in Healthcare, Field/Seminar and Advanced Micro Practice in MSW programs. LaTisha is currently seeking her doctoral education to further expand her research knowledge and skills to immensely impact the lives of individuals, families, and social work students whom she will have the pleasure of serving.
