Damone Wisdom

Throughout his master’s degree, his internship consisted of him counseling clients with One Love Longview who were dealing with issues including stress, family dynamics, anger issues, relationship issues, anxiety, depression, drug abuse and a host of other mental health issues. He is passionate about social work within foster care because he is a former foster child and social work in the public school system from his experience as a third-grade elementary school teacher. For these reasons, his research interests include the trauma that foster kids experience and how those experiences correlate with diagnosed mental health issues, as well as a research interest in the role social workers play in the public school system and how they help children who have a hard time developing coping skills.
