Benjamin Sesay
Benjamin Sesay holds a Master of Social Work from UTA. He also earned a Master of Business Administration in 2017 and a Master of Science in International Development and Management in 2015 from the University of Gavle and Lund University, Sweden, respectively. His first degree is in Business Administration with honors, specializing in Human Resources Management, and he graduated in 2010 from the University of Sierra Leone. Additionally, Benjamin is an Alumnus of the Swedish Institute and holds a Certificate in Human Rights, Peace, and Security from the International Training Program (ITP) January – December 2009 Class of the Swedish International Development and Cooperation Agency (SIDA), Uppsala, Sweden, and Siem Reap, Cambodia. Moreover, he has a history of advocating for youth development, regional peace and security, smallholder farmers' rights to land, and food security for seniors experiencing food insecurity. Besides, he has been serving as a Graduate Research Assistant at UTA since June 2022 and remains in this position. This role has provided him with a variety of research skills. Even so, his research interest has evolved over the past years. He is currently interested in gerontological-related research, linking food insecurity and mental health outcomes of older adults and well-being, resettled older adult refugees and their well-being, social policies, program development, and community development issues.
