Students of Design Night Inspires and Connects Future Designers
The Interior Design program at the College of Architecture, Planning, and Public Affairs (CAPPA) recently held their Students of Design Night—an evening focused on fostering learning, networking, and professional growth for emerging designers.
The event brought together students, industry professionals, and program partners to provide invaluable opportunities for career development and exposure to the design industry.
A major highlight was the presence of the Network of Executive Women in Hospitality (NEWH)—a nonprofit networking resource for the hospitality industry—and Woodwright, the event's host. Guest speakers offered insights and guidance, sharing expertise that resonated with attendees.
Students participated in mock interviews and received constructive feedback on their resumes and portfolios, gaining both practical advice and a boost in confidence as they prepare to enter the professional world. To further support students’ career development, the event also offered professional headshots—an essential tool for building strong personal brands.
The Interior Design program extends its gratitude to NEWH, Woodwright, and all individuals who contributed to the event’s success. By bridging the gap between education and industry, Students of Design Night empowers aspiring designers with the tools, relationships, and confidence they need to thrive in their future careers.
