The application to purchase the plates may be downloaded through the Texas Department of Transportation Web site. Visit www.dot.state.tx.us/vtr/spplates/allplates.htm and click on The University of Texas at Arlington link. UTA License PlateOr pick up an application at the tax assessor-collector’s office. Plates take approximately two weeks to process.  UTA must sell 1,000 license plates before Sept. 1 or its participation in the program will be eliminated.
