Six former Hispanic Media Initiative (HMI) students won a total of 11 Lone Star Emmys at the annual National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Lone Star Chapter awards held this year in Houston. UTA’s HMI program is one of the best in the country, producing broadcast journalism professionals in all areas of the field. The program has a 100 percent graduation and job placement rate, highlighting the demand from the industry for UTA-trained graduates.
