Portrait
of a UTA Family
The Taylor family's association with UTA and its preceding institutions
began in 1911. It continues today through Lloyd Clark and his granddaughter,
sophomore Alida Eggen.

and now her daughter have all made UTA their university of choice.

At least one member of the Latham family has taught at or attended
UTA every decade since the 1940s.

The Saad siblingsthree brothers and three sistershave
used their UTA diplomas to launch international business ventures.
Birth
of Nations spawned UTA family affair
With the family home on land now occupied by UTA's South 40 parking
lot, it's not surprising that seven Nation siblings attended neighboring
North Texas Agricultural College in the 1930s and 1940s.

A word from the president
|
|
I would like to thank each of you for supporting
The University of Texas at Arlington and the Alumni Association.
Your membership allows the association and the University to maintain
their dedication to lifelong learning and to provide opportunities
that will continue to allow you to stretch your imagination and
your intellectual capacities.
The UTA Alumni Association exists to serve you,
our valued alumni, by providing opportunities to continue involvement
with the University and friends after graduation.
|
|
In turn, a strong body of alumni is critical in helping
to recruit top students, provide scholarships, provide recognition programs
for alumni and increase awareness of our Universitys outstanding
educational offerings.
The UTA Alumni Association exists to serve you, our valued
alumni, by providing opportunities to continue involvement with the University
and friends after graduation.
No truly great university can rise above the collective strength, commitment
and generosity of its alumni. That is why this is the optimal time for
me to share with each of you the programs on the horizon for the Alumni
Association.
Our chapter program is moving forward with the addition of the Young Alumni
Chapter (graduates from the last 5-10 years), Native American Alumni Chapter
and the 50-Year Club (graduates from classes of North Texas Agricultural
College and Arlington State College), along with chapters in Arlington,
Dallas, Fort Worth and Washington, D.C. These new chapters are in addition
to existing chapters.
We are also assisting the University with recruitment efforts for students
looking to UTA for their higher education needs.
In October of this year, we will host our annual Distinguished Alumni
Gala, honoring the most distinguished graduates from each college/school.
This remains the highest honor given by the Alumni Association on behalf
of the University to any graduate.
I look forward to your continued support of UTA and the Alumni Association.
If you are interested in any of the programs I have mentioned, please
contact the Alumni Association at 817-272-2594.
Best regards and many thanks for your loyalty!
