Remarks | FAILED - This would make the meal plans more expensive, as Aramark factors in a certain percentage of meals that will not be used by students. |
Whereas | University Housing and Residential Dining Services encourage Students to purchase a meal plan in order to be used at Connections Cafe each semester; and |
Whereas | Each meal plan for the spring and fall semesters contains an allotment of between 160-280 meals per semester; and |
Whereas | Students who have purchased these meal plans are entitled to personally use as many of the meals as they have purchased; and |
Whereas | Under current rules, "Only one meal can be subtracted from your meal plan at breakfast, lunch, and dinner each day," and if a student "want[s] to pay for someone else to eat with you, you must use your Dining Dollars or cash," (UTA Dining Services/Meal Plan Information Website); and |
Whereas | Students do not always use all of the allotted meals credited to their respective meal plans; and |
Whereas | Many other Universities allow students to swipe their card more than once per meal, and it would be fair to give students better options to use all of the meals that they've paid for. |
Be It Further Resolved That | Students be allowed to swipe their Mav ID cards more than once per meal, subtracting it accordingly from their pre-purchased plan. |
