Whereas | The University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) is home to a diverse and growing student population, many of whom rely on online shopping for textbooks, supplies, and other personal items; |
Whereas | Delivery issues such as missed deliveries or package theft can cause unnecessary stress for students, especially those living on or near campus; |
Whereas | Amazon offers a secure locker system that allows students to pick up their packages at their convenience, which would reduce the likelihood of delivery issues and package theft; |
Whereas | Other universities have successfully implemented Amazon lockers, providing their students with a more secure and accessible method for receiving packages; |
Whereas | Installing Amazon lockers at strategic locations across campus, including near residence halls, student centers, and libraries, would benefit students and improve their overall campus experience; |
Be It Further Resolved That | The Student Senate of UTA formally requests the administration to install Amazon lockers at strategic locations across campus to provide a secure and convenient method for students to receive packages; |
Be It Further Resolved That | The Student Senate recommends that the university explore partnership opportunities with Amazon to ensure the installation and maintenance of these lockers without significant financial burden to UTA or the student body. |
