Whereas | The University of Texas at Arlington’s student employees are paid an average hourly wage of approximately $11; however, there are still 594 students between the current federal minimum wage of $7.25 and $10, and; |
Whereas | The University of Texas at Arlington has recently launched a salary study for of faculty, graduate assistants, and staff employees to help improve equity, and; |
Whereas | The University of Texas at Arlington should continue those efforts and pay student workers a sustainable wage that will correlate to the living expenses for the area; |
Be It Further Resolved That | The University of Texas at Arlington consider implementing a new minimum wage for all student employment ranging from at least $10 to $15, based off what is most feasible and cost-efficient for the university; and |
Be It Further Resolved That | The current minimum wage is subject to regular review by the University of Texas at Arlington to reflect the then current cost of living to improve equity for students. |
