Remarks | The Student Affairs committee conducted research and found that the Health Center added a list of non-emergency clinics that students may go to. The committee did not feel to conduct anymore research as the what the resolution asked is now implemented. |
Whereas | The UTA health center serves a great number of the students, yet closes at 5 pm on weekdays and is closed on the weekends; and |
Whereas | The health center partially accommodates to this issue by providing a list of hospitals and emergency clinics on their website to refer students; and |
Whereas | This is helpful to students who may have a medical emergency, but not helpful for students who are experiencing a mild to moderate illness that does not need emergency care; and |
Whereas | There are plenty of non-emergency clinics around UTA that are open weekday evenings, weekends and take student insurance. |
Be It Further Resolved That | The UTA Health Center add information to their website of different clinics that UTA students could go to for non-emergency needs. |
