Remarks | |
Whereas | UTA has approximately 42,000 students of which 60% are women; and |
Whereas | UTA is a University of Distinction known for offering a high-quality education to students of all income levels; and |
Whereas | 37% of UTA students currently enrolled are low income students who are dependent on federal and state aid; and |
Whereas | Many universities are implementing policies to accommodate for Women’s Health; and |
Whereas | UTA currently has dispensers in women’s and in some single stall bathrooms that are out of service, outdated, and/or containing materials that cause discomfort for many women; and |
Whereas | UTA, currently, only sells Women’s Hygiene items at the bookstore and health center, which are not open as late as the POD and the UTA Health Center only provides one menstrual item to women at no cost per day. |
Be It Further Resolved That | UTA require that all on-campus shops provide Women’s hygiene products for sale, and dispensers in Women’s restrooms be maintained and refilled regularly. |
