Whereas | Currently the lights at the Tennis Courts near the MAC have to be turned on and off manually and students want to use the Tennis Courts after 9pm since the MAC stays open until midnight; and |
Whereas | At night, workers must physically go to the tennis court to turn off the lights at 9:00PM which can be a safety hazard for the workers; and |
Whereas | There are lighting systems that have automatic timers and are used by other schools and campuses; and |
Whereas | These systems can be on a set timer or can be set by request for a certain amount of time. For example, a student may want to use the tennis court after 9:00 PM, so they would swipe their student ID card or pay a minimal fee to turn on the lights for a certain amount of time, such as thirty minutes or an hour. |
Be It Further Resolved That | UTA install such an automatic lighting system so that the tennis court lights do not have to be turned off at night manually. |
