Remarks | The Student Senate concluded that with our growing music programs here at UTA, more practice rooms for these students need to be built. These students are required to practice daily, and many do not have designated practice space at their homes or dorms, therefore they must practice at school. With limited practice rooms, many students are left to only practice for short amount of time in order to let others practice. |
Whereas | There are approximately 360 students in the music program at UTA with only 15 practice rooms; and |
Whereas | These students are required to spend several hours each week practicing their respected instrument to meet their practice requirements for class; and |
Whereas | Student's cannot practice in their residence halls or apartment's due to the excess noise that could disrupt other student's studies; and |
Whereas | With only 15 rooms for the 360 student's to practice, these student's academic success is challenged since they cannot complete their work for class. |
Be It Further Resolved That | UTA adds practice rooms or transforms rooms in west campus into practice rooms for music majors/minors to utilize to meet their academic needs. |
