Whereas | UTA has a significant population of students with disabilities; and |
Whereas | More than 1000 students are registered with Office for Students with Disabilities; and |
Whereas | These students interact with Faculty/Staff and Student employees on a daily basis and sometimes these employees of the university don't know how to communicate effectively with the students with disabilities; and |
Whereas | This leads to Faculty/Staff and Student employees be unable to deal with the situation efficiently which leads to uneasy circumstances for the students with disabilities; and |
Whereas | Improper treatment of students with disabilities by university employees can also put great liability on the institution |
Be It Further Resolved That | The ADA Compliance Training at UT Arlington reflects the needs and concerns of the University employees and students |
Be It Further Resolved That | the University of Texas at Arlington compliance training to incorporate findings from the focus group as organized by the Office Human Resources |
