Remarks
Whereas The Connections Cafe does not clearly state, nor do the employees themselves know, which foods are specifically gluten free, and
Whereas There are students who suffer from gluten intolerances such as Celiac’s disease on this campus that are required to purchase meal plans in order to live in many of the dorms on campus; and
Whereas A lot of students and staff go to the café daily; and
Whereas It is unfair to these students to pay money for food they are not sure they can safely consume.
Be It Further Resolved That The University of Texas at Arlington seeks to ensure the availability of at least one gluten free product in the Connections Café; and
Be It Further Resolved That That all food items in the Connections Cafe are appropriately labeled with the correct nutritional information and ingredients for the safety of the consumer.
