Whereas | The University of Texas at Arlington is striving to promote a residential campus to encourage students to live in university-owned communities; and, |
Whereas | The contracting process to live on-campus can be burdensome, which could deter students from choosing on-campus options; and, |
Whereas | A $150 deposit is required for each university-housing contract, which may cause a financial burden on students who have both current and future university housing contract. |
Be It Further Resolved That | University housing residents who retain a $150 deposit on record with the Housing Office will be allowed to waive any additional deposit payment requirements related to future university housing contracts. In this instance, the existing deposit shall transfer in full so as to meet the deposit requirements of the future contract. |
Be It Further Resolved That | In the event a deposit is transferred to a future contract period, any damages, cleaning, or charges the student accrues under the previous contract must be paid in full prior to the established deadline. Charges from a previous contract period may not be deducted from a deposit which is being retained for a future contract period. |
