Whereas | Some UTA students live very close to campus but their residences are considered 'off-campus'. |
Whereas | Some of these students do not own cars and prefer to walk to campus due to its proximity. |
Whereas | UTA escort services (golf-carts and police escorts) refuse to escort students unless they are strictly on campus. |
Whereas | There have been incidents of robberies, thefts and other dangerous criminal occurrences in areas close to campus. |
Whereas | These incidents adversely affect a number of students, propagating fear and inconvenience. |
