Remarks | There are childcare facilities that are near campus, including ones that offer UTA students discounts. |
Whereas | Student parents make up a large percentage of the student population; and |
Whereas | Many professors do not allow students to bring children to class; and |
Whereas | No student should be denied the right to pursue a higher education because their children cannot be cared for during school hours; and |
Whereas | The funding for childcare services offered to student parents runs out in May 2010. |
Be It Further Resolved That | More federal grants be sought out to aid student parents, or a day care service be established at UTA to take care of the children of student parents while they are in class. |
