Whereas | Many students do not have the daily funds to buy drinks from either the vending machines or the food service centers provided to UTA students every day; and |
Whereas | Drinking fountains on campus do not flow properly which forces many students to touch the fountain with their lips in order to get a drink of water which is very unsanitary; and |
Whereas | Many students are concerned with the current spread of illnesses (e.g., the flu, swine flu, colds, etc.). |
Whereas | Many students refuse to use the drinking fountains at UTA for fear of contracting an illness, despite being on campus for a number of hours without access to any free hydrating liquids to drink other than the water fountains. |
Be It Further Resolved That | The water pressure be fixed on these drinking fountains in order to provide adequate service for UTA students, a relatively easy fix to a current student concern; and |
Be It Further Resolved That | This change would aid in preventing the spread of illness to students on campus. |
