Whereas | The University has recently outlined some of its 'Mavericks Go Green' initiatives, one of which is waste reduction; and |
Whereas | Examples of waste reduction initiatives include UT Arlington employees switching to 'paperless' earning statements and professors no longer providing paper copies of syllabi to their students (they are available online); and |
Whereas | The current default settings for documents to be printed on campus include the printing of jobs on one side per sheet of paper, also know as 'single-sided.' |
Be It Further Resolved That | The default settings for documents to be printed be changed to print in duplex, also know as 'double-sided' (to reduce waste and the current associated costs of printing jobs) on all printers that are capable of printing double-sided, while maintaining the option for single-sided printing; and |
Be It Further Resolved That | the Office of Information Technology disseminate information regarding this change via emailing members of the University community; and |
Be It Further Resolved That | OIT explore the option of adding a pop-up window to provide additional convenience to users. |
