Whereas | Many students everyday are nearly hit by a car and/or have difficulty crossing the street via the crosswalk at the intersection of UTA Boulevard and Yates Street. |
Whereas | Studies, such as the one attached, have shown that crosswalks with in-pavement flashing warning lights increase visibility and pedestrian safety. |
Be It Further Resolved That | The crosswalk at the intersection of UTA Boulevard and Yates Street be equipped with manual triggered in-pavement flashing warning lights to increase safety for students who cross the street via this crosswalk. |
