Whereas | UTA charges $7 per official transcript for current students if ordered online and charges $17 per official transcript if ordered in person; and |
Whereas | The rush service fee for transcripts in any university within the UT System and A&M System is much lower than what UTA charges to our students; and |
Whereas | UT Austin charges $10 for official and unnoficial transcripts to its students any way they order it; and |
Whereas | UT El Paso charges only $5 for the same service; and |
Whereas | There are many universities in the nation that do not charge any fees for transcripts to their current students ' for instance, Texas A&M Commerce and UT Dallas do not charge any fees to their students for a limited number of transcripts (max 5 per week), and Wichita State University does not charge any fees to its students and gives them 10 complimentary transcripts after their graduation. |
Whereas | Due to these high transcript fees, some UTA students are discouraged from applying for scholarships and/or higher education at other universities. |
Be It Further Resolved That | UTA reduce its transcript fees for its current students to a level that is competitive with other UT System schools and is fair to its students. |
