| Whereas | The MavsMeet Student Convocation on August 28th, 2006 was held in Texas Hall in order to commemorate the start of a new academic year; and |
| Whereas | The MavsMeet Student Convocation was a program designed to introduce the UTA culture to UTA students; and |
| Whereas | Although many students attended, there has been a drop off in the number of faculty that has attended the MavsMeet Student Convocation in the last two years. |
| Be It Further Resolved That | The University of Texas at Arlington consider making the MavsMeet Student Convocation a more student oriented program. |
| Be It Further Resolved That | The University of Texas at Arlington form a committee in order to look for more creative ways to connect with freshman students in order to get them excited about their college career. |
