Whereas | The By-laws of Student Congress require Representatives to have meetings; and |
Whereas | The specific day of the week is not designated in the By-laws; and |
Whereas | We now meet Tuesdays; and |
Whereas | The City Council of Arlington meets at the same day and time as Student Congress; and |
Whereas | UTA is located in Arlington and the political, economic, and social issues of the City of Arlington can have a great impact on the Students of UTA; and |
Whereas | Current issues discussed in Arlington City Council such as, General Motors, Ethics, Recycling, and Arlington Stadium deserve input from UTA. Many representatives of Student Congress are politically active and would provide excellent representation for UTA and the Student Body in Arlington City Council meetings; and |
Be It Further Resolved That | Student Congress schedule meetings beginning in Fall of 1992 to not conflict with the regularly scheduled Arlington City Council Meetings; and |
Be It Further Resolved That | Student Congress meet on Thursdays; and |
Be It Further Resolved That | A member of Student Congress be selected as a volunteer or be appointed to seek information and or attend the Arlington City Council Meetings and the agenda for Student Congress include a report from a member on issues and items being discussed in Arlington. |
