Whereas | Most UTA Students work or want to work at least part time; and |
Whereas | The university has an office, Student Employment Services, to assist students in finding part time and full time jobs, co-ops, and internships; and |
Whereas | Student Employment Services has procedures for the purpose of investigating unehtical companies and ensuring that students are treated fair and equal; and |
Whereas | Any person or entity who acts as a channel of employment (posting job descriptions and vacancies are included) is legally liable for ANY complications with the job inclusive of discrimination, non-payment for services, etc; and |
Whereas | Department staff does not have time to take phone calls for employment opportunities; and |
Whereas | Most students are unaware of laws in human resource management, practices of unethical businesses and their personal legal liability, and to avoid law suits involving students, dept staff, and the university. |
Be It Further Resolved That | ALL student employment opportunities must go through the UTA Student Employment Service office prior to being offered to UTA Students. |
