Whereas | The crosswalk at Border & Yates (which crosses Border) is consistently being ignored by traffic as students are attempting to cross Border St.; and |
Whereas | As a student, I have experienced and witnessed others caught in the middle of the crosswalk as cars pass in each direction; and |
Whereas | These are traffic violations; and |
Whereas | The yellow crosswalk signs are not a working deterrent; and |
Whereas | This is physically endangering our students; and |
Whereas | It is the responsibility of UTA to protect its students and faculty to the best of its ability. |
Be It Further Resolved That | Lights be installed at the crosswalk to deter vehicles from entering the crosswalk as pedestrians cross; and |
Be It Further Resolved That | A Yield to Pedestrian sign with slow blinking lights be installed at the crosswalk to deter vehicles from entering the crosswalk as pedestrians cross; and |
Be It Further Resolved That | If it is not in UTA's jurisdiciton, it be immediately referred to the City of Arlington for implementation. |
