Whereas | UT-Arlington celebrates Founder's Day annually to commemorate our rich history; and |
Whereas | Founder's Day events have been sparse, featuring addresses by the presidents of the University and Student Congress, cake, and a pep rally; and |
Whereas | Celebrating Founders Day not only commemorates the inception of this institution, but also our role in and commitment to the Arlington community over the last 110 years. |
Be It Further Resolved That | The University should create a 'Senior Gift' program that allows each senior class to work on a gift to be given to the UTA community. The gift idea, fundraising, and giving process should be coordinated by a committee of senior student leaders under the supervision of either UTA Volunteers, EX.C.E.L., or Student Congress, so that the gift of a senior graduating in December, May, or August of 2005 or 2006 will be given to the university community at the Founders Day event in October of 2006. |
