Whereas | UTA, being an urban university, often lacks characteristics that distinguish itself from the surrounding urban environment; and |
Whereas | Street signs that differ from those used to identify streets throughout Arlington would provide a distinct manner in which UTA can differentiate its campus perimieters from the rest of Arlington properties; and |
Whereas | Other universities in the metroplex, such as UNT and TCU, have signs unique to their campuses, and these signs are successful in identifying the perimeters of their campuses. |
Be It Further Resolved That | All street identifying signs used on UTA campus properties be changed to differ from those used by the city of Arlington; and |
Be It Further Resolved That | Each sign should be reversed in color so that the signs are white with blue lettering; and |
Be It Further Resolved That | Each sign should also have the UTA logo (or another acceptable identifying symbol that is representative of UTA) in the upper right corner of the sign; and |
Be It Further Resolved That | These new signs be in place on campus by the beginning of the Fall 1995 semester. |
