Whereas | A gas leak is virtually undetectable without the proper equipment; and |
Whereas | Inhalation of gases emitted by a leak can be fatal; and |
Whereas | A gas leak can cause an explosion. |
Be It Further Resolved That | UTA, in addition to fire and smoke detectors, place carbon monoxide detectors in all housing units which contain any gas or gas-related appliance; and |
Be It Further Resolved That | UTA place carbon monoxide detectors in all housing units which have gas pipes running near enough to them to pose as a potential health hazard in the event of a leak; and |
Be It Further Resolved That | UTA place carbon monoxide detectors in all housing units which have gas pipes running beneath them; and |
Be It Further Resolved That | These detectors will be installed in all of these units no later than summer 1996. |
