Remarks | IMPLEMENTED - We now have the W.A. Baker Chemistry Research Building. |
Whereas | Dr. W.A. Baker served UTA with distinction for twenty-plus years; and |
Whereas | Dr. Baker served as Vice President of Academic Affairs for nineteen years; and |
Whereas | Dr. Baker is leaving UTA to enrich the lives of students, faculty, and administrators at another institution of higher education; and |
Whereas | It would be proper that we should show Dr. Baker that he has enriched the lives of all he came in contact with here at UTA; and |
Whereas | In the past it has been the practice of UTA to name buildings, streets, and/or complexes after past administrators/ faculty of exceptional quality(i.e., Nedderman Drive/ Hall, Pickard Hall, Dudley Wetzel Complex); and Dr. Baker has proven himself to be nothing short of exceptional as both a faculty member, and an administrator; and |
Whereas | This resolution is in response to faculty members that have expressed the need for UTA to show its appreciation for Dr. Baker's service to our community; and |
Be It Further Resolved That | UTA change the name of the new science building to honor Dr. Baker for his twenty-plus years of service to our University, our community, and our futures (i.e., Baker Hall, Dr. Baker Hall, W.A. Baker Center), |
Be It Further Resolved That | That UTA makes the building naming a part of the Centennial Celebration; and |
Be It Further Resolved That | This resolution take effect immediately. |
