Whereas | Students who transfer to UTA are not affected by their prior academic work for GPA calculation and therefore begin with a "clean slate;" and |
Whereas | The GPA of students who attend UTA from the beginning to the end of their academic career are affected by every course they take at UTA; and |
Whereas | Calculation for honors standing does not take into consideration whether a student was at UTA or at a junior college during their previous course work and therefore only includes work done at UTA; and |
Whereas | This system is inequitable when it comes time to distribute honor status. |
Be It Further Resolved That | Calculation for honors status take into consideration either work done only in the major or the last 60 hours of UTA credits; and |
Be It Further Resolved That | This take effect immediately. |
