Whereas The new Handbook of Operating Procedures states that "Faculty members must provide students in each of their classes with a written syllabus before the end of the fourth class day each semester and the second class day each summer term;" and
Whereas It is unacceptable for students to be given the syllabus outlining the expected workload and class description after the end of the add/drop period; and
Whereas It would be beneficial to students to receive the syllabus before the end of the add/drop period.
Be It Further Resolved That The policy regarding syllabus distribution be amended to state that "Faculty members must provide students in each of their classes with a written syllabus before the end of the second class day each long semester and the second class day each summer term;" and
Be It Further Resolved That That the add/drop period be extended, to accommodate the change of policy, to the end of the first business day falling after the second class day for classes that meet either Monday-Wednesday-Friday or Tuesday-Thursday; and
Be It Further Resolved That That this resolution takes effect immediately.
