Remarks | FAILED - If any business can beat the price UTA provides then it is ok to use their food at an organization's event. |
Whereas | The contract food service vendor has a non-competitive pricing structure for on campus departments and student organizations; and |
Whereas | Student organizations have only a limited budget to spend on food at their events; and |
Whereas | UTA allows only 2 food waivers each year for departments or student organizations to use to avoid these non-competitive prices; and |
Whereas | These contracts limit local business' access to UTA and limit the students' ability to access local business for these events. |
Be It Further Resolved That | Student organizations and departments be allowed to seek bids from local vendors in direct competition with the University's food service contract. The food service vendor will have to be included in all bidding opportunities; and |
Be It Further Resolved That | This resolution is intended to be used in all further contracts and is not intended to alter current contractual agreements of the University. |
