Whereas | Students, staff, and faculty at UTA are dependent on a local day care to care for their children while attending classes, working, or teaching classes; and |
Whereas | Provisions of these child-care services is instrumental in the recruitment and retention of students, staff, and faculty; and |
Whereas | A day care facility associated with the University in proximity and student, staff, and faculty patronage provides a sense of closeness and security to respective parents; and |
Whereas | This facility may be used as a lab setting for various UTA departmental labs, to include Social Work, Nursing, Education, Psychology, and Sociology; and |
Whereas | The current YWCA child care center at 6th and Center St. is facing foreclosure in February of 1998. |
Be It Further Resolved That | UTA support the continued operation of this facility; and |
Be It Further Resolved That | UTA assist in the search for a suitable child-care provider and ensure that the continued, non-interrupted services of this facility. |
