Remarks | FAILED - Student Congress is not the place to have a public display of religion. |
Whereas | Student Congress recites the "Pledge of Allegiance" before each general body meeting; and |
Whereas | UTA has several religious organizations on campus; and |
Whereas | The United States Congress, Texas Legislature, and Arlington/ Fort Worth/ Dallas City Councils have ministers, priest, and rabbi's pray to a universal God before their general body meetings. |
Be It Further Resolved That | Student Congress invite a representative from one of the religious organizations or another who desires to give the invocation after the "Pledge of Allegiance" before each general body meeting; and |
Be It Further Resolved That | This resolution take effect beginning of the next general body meeting after passage. |
