Whereas | The determinant factor in passing, failing, or receiving a certain grade in a class should be based totally on academic performance; and |
Whereas | Some professors' attendance policies threaten to detract from a student's academic performance by means of attendance; and |
Whereas | If a student can miss class while performing to his/her satisfaction and receive a passing grade; and |
Whereas | College students are adults and therefore responsible for their attendance to classes or lack thereof and their subsequent grade. |
Be It Further Resolved That | UTA put an end to attendance policies that would in any way detract from a students earned academic performance. |
