Remarks | This is a remark |
Whereas | Professors at the Nursing school are locking doors at the beginning of classes to prevent students from entering class after it has already started and in between breaks; and |
Whereas | Most all nursing classes are 3 hours long with (roughly) 2 break periods that are about 10 minutes in length. Time does not always allow one to return to class in sufficient time during break; and |
Whereas | Students pay to attend these classes and are all adults, so we should not be treated like children; and |
Whereas | The information provided during class is vital in our profession and success in nursing school, and there are sometimes circumstances where a student might be late and should not be punished for it. |
Be It Further Resolved That | The option for professors to lock the doors during class, be no longer backed by the student hand book, and should be abolished. |
