Greetings,
Happy New Year! The University of Texas at Arlington campus is brimming with excitement, as students return to campus, researchers begin new projects, and events start to pick back up. The start of the spring semester is always one of my favorite times of the year, as it brings renewed energy and enthusiasm from everyone on campus, from our facilities maintenance team to our new transfer students to our new faculty onboarding. All our students, faculty, and staff come ready to seize the opportunities ahead and make the most of a brand-new year and semester at UTA.
We have some very exciting news this semester, as our new School of Social Work and College of Nursing and Health Innovation Smart Hospital is now officially open. The building saw its first visitors this month when our social work students filled the hallways and classrooms and our nursing students honed their skills in the new state-of-the-art space. This facility will bring transformational opportunities to our students, faculty, and staff. Thank you to everyone who has supported this project; your advocacy, donations, and collaboration have made it all possible.
As the semester begins, I am proud of the commitment I see among our faculty and staff to support our community. From local challenges like traffic flow in Texas to global medical challenges like Alzheimer’s and dementia, UTA researchers continue to make important breakthroughs that build a better future for us all.
In all facets of our institution, we continue to strive toward fulfilling our mission of education, research, and public service. I cannot wait to share with you even more progress as the year continues.
Sincerely,
|
