Brain research discovery

UTA Professor of Research Christos Papadelis and doctoral student Ludovica Corona have discovered how to identify which brain cells lead to epileptic episodes in children.

UTA Ring Week

First-gen resources

The UTA First-Gen College Education Series returns for the spring semester. This series provides first-generation students with additional support to better navigate the college environment. Join the first session Wednesday, Feb. 22, at 12 p.m. in the Red River Room.

Black feminist theory

Join the Center for Theory Wednesday, Feb. 22, at 6 p.m. for the panel "Black Feminist and Liberatory Theories." Panelists include Kyrah Brown, assistant professor of kinesiology, Wideline Seraphin, assistant professor of literacy studies, and Ericka Roland, assistant professor of educational leadership and policy studies.

International Career Week

The Department of Global Engagement presents its inaugural International Career Week beginning Monday, Feb. 27.

Job fair

The All Majors Job and Internship Fair is Wednesday, March 1, in the Maverick Activities Center. All UTA students and alumni seeking full-time positions, part-time jobs, internships, and field placements are welcome to attend. More than 100 employers are expected to be present.

TExBioMed Summer Institute

The Training and Experiential Learning in Biomedical Informatics (TExBioMed) Summer Institute at UTA supports short-term training that prepares undergraduate students for biomedical informatics and data science graduate studies and research careers. Eleven students will each receive a $7,200 stipend to participate. The deadline to apply is Tuesday, Feb. 28.

Graduation application deadline

The deadline to apply for graduation is Wednesday, March 1. Before you apply, verify with your academic advisor that you are eligible to graduate at the end of the term. As you plan for your big day, remember that summer commencement has been discontinued. Learn more on the registrar's website.

A Conversation with Indra Nooyi

The Maverick Speakers Series presents Indra Nooyi Tuesday, March 21, at 7:30 p.m. Nooyi is an experienced leader in the business world and has held executive positions at major companies all over the globe. She is also a revered role model for women and immigrants and celebrated for her empowering messages on inclusivity.

Education Career Day

Mark your calendar for Education Career Day, a spring hiring fair hosted by the College of Education’s Office of Educational Field Experiences. The Monday, March 27, event is open to UTA students and alumni who are interested in careers in K-12 education.
