On-campus vaccine site to close
|
The on-campus COVID‑19 vaccination site powered by OptumServe will end operations on Wednesday, June 16. UTA students and employees can still register for an appointment or walk in to receive a vaccine today and tomorrow. The site is open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. in the Physical Education Building, 801 Greek Row.
UTA employees and students also can receive their vaccines with priority access at six Texas Health Vaccine Hubs around the DFW Metroplex until further notice. Visit the COVID‑19 Vaccination Information and Resources webpage for more information on vaccine opportunities for the UTA community.
All guidance and protocols related to COVID‑19 for the summer semesters are available in the UTA COVID-19 Summer 2021 Campus Operation Plan.
Proactive testing for COVID‑19 is available on campus through Health Services and the Curative Testing Center.

Emergency funds for students
|
Thanks to federal funding, UTA is providing Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund grants to currently enrolled (summer 2021) eligible students in the amounts of $1,200 for traditional students and $700 for Accelerated Online students. You can apply for this grant by logging into your MyMav account, clicking the 'MyForms' tile located on the UTA Student home page, and then clicking on the 'Fill Out a New Form' button. Juneteenth celebration Thursday
|
Join featured speaker Pamela “Safisha” Hill at UTA’s Juneteenth celebration 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Thursday, June 17, at Brazos Park.
Juneteenth—June 19—commemorates the day in 1865 when the Emancipation Proclamation was read to enslaved African Americans in Texas after the conclusion of the Civil War, which ended more than two months earlier.
Dr. Hill, adjunct assistant professor of social work, is a diversity, equity, and inclusion educator and a consultant at Diverse EduCultural Consulting in Dallas.
A DJ, entertainment, prizes, and barbecue are part of the festivities. Students should bring their Mav IDs.

Policy updates, changes
|
CO-PD-PR-01 Abandoned and Lost Property Procedure. Updates provide clarity on handling lost and found items on campus.
CO-UF-PO-01 University Facilities Use Policy. UTA parking enforcement employees were added as authorized personnel to request patrons on campus to identify themselves.
GA-UA-PO-07 Continuing Education Fees Policy. Updates remove a duplicative sentence and change the fee approval from the vice president of administrative and campus operations to the chief financial officer.

Network maintenance on two Sundays
|
The UTA network will be unavailable due to maintenance 2-7 a.m. Sunday, June 20, and Sunday, June 27.
During these outages, the UTA Police Department’s main phone number will be unavailable. For emergency help, contact the alternative police emergency dispatch line by calling 817-371-0850.
