COVID-19 vaccine comes to campus

UTA has established a partnership with OptumServe to provide all interested employees and students access to COVID‑19 vaccines at a convenient on-campus location and free of charge.

Effective Wednesday, May 5, OptumServe will be operating a COVID‑19 vaccination site 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday through June at the Physical Education Building at 801 Greek Row Dr. Read more.

Diversity, inclusion survey

The deadline to complete the UTA Campus Climate Survey on diversity and inclusion has been extended to Friday, May 7. The survey takes about 15 minutes. Skip any question you do not feel comfortable answering. Your response is confidential.

Tesla internship

Vikram Gupta, a graduate student in computer science who also works as a research assistant in the UTA FabLab, has landed a coveted internship at Tesla, the electric vehicle company.

New sustainability newsletter

The Office of Sustainability's first newsletter is filled with information on campus dining hydroponics, the new Food Recovery Network chapter, the UTA Libraries' Green Office project, and a review of Earth Day events. Sign up to receive the quarterly newsletter.

Update resume, cover letter

Have your resume and cover letter reviewed by the Lockheed Martin Career Development Center prior to applying for a job. Submit your document online in Handshake or go to the Career Spot Drop-Ins 1-4 p.m. Monday-Friday.

De-stress and Relax at Brazos Park 4-7 p.m. today, Tuesday, May 4, with various activities, including zumba, yoga, a meditative sound bath, and art activities. Score a free finals survival kit. There will be healthy snacks and giveaways. Please RSVP if you wish to participate at this event.

Pet a pooch at the May Doggy Days at the Central Library on Wednesday, May 5. Be sure to register for a time slot.

Emergency Broadband Benefit Program

Beginning Wednesday, May 12, eligible households will be able to enroll in the FCC's Emergency Broadband Benefit Program, which will allow them to receive a monthly discount off the cost of broadband service and/or devices from an approved provider. Eligible houselines include those with a Pell Grant recipient or that have experienced significant income loss since February 2020.

UTA students can review the eligibility requirements and the registration process by visiting https://getemergencybroadband.org before enrollment opens.

Attendance policy survey

Complete a student survey on your experiences with faculty members’ attendance policies during the COVID-19 pandemic. This includes flexibility regarding disabilities and chronic illnesses, COVID-19 and other illnesses, caregiving and parenting responsibilities, and work.

Undergrad Exit Survey

Students graduating in May 2021 should complete the Undergraduate Exit Survey—available through Canvas—by Monday, May 31. Responses are confidential. Eligible students will receive survey invitations from iersurveys@uta.edu.

Graduates, please complete your First-Destination Survey about your post-graduation plans. Your feedback helps UTA better prepare current and future students for success.
