Maverick Stampede 2021: Mavericks are stronger when we connect with each other. Create community. Explore opportunities. Enjoy creativity. Prioritize wellness. Understand resources.

Welcome back, Mavericks!

As new and returning students start the spring semester, UTA Interim President Teik C. Lim shares a welcoming thought.

"No matter where you are learning from," he says, "I hope you will embrace the opportunities UTA has to offer in and outside of the classroom, as we remain committed to helping you develop and enhance every area of your life." Read more of Dr. Lim's message.

The Maverick Stampede is the official kickoff to the spring semester. You’ll experience fun and exciting programs—virtual and on-campus—centered on integrating new and returning students back to campus. See the list of events.

COVID-19 testing at MAC

Health Services continues to offer free COVID-19 testing for students. New appointment times are available 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, at the Maverick Activities Center.

There are a limited number of spots available. Students can schedule an appointment through the MavCare Patient Portal at mavcare.uta.edu.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention does not recommend testing if you have already tested positive in the preceding three months and do not currently have symptoms.

Testing also is available by appointment at Health Services throughout the semester.

For any questions, please email hsic@uta.edu or call 817-272-2771, option 1.

Free COVID-19 vaccinations available for healthcare workers, seniors over 65, and adults with chronic medical conditions. Register at http://www.arlingtontx.gov/coronavirus.

COVID-19 vaccines available through county public health departments

To allow community distribution to prioritized populations, UTA currently does not have plans to acquire vaccines during the initial phases of deployment. However, the University continues to assess its planning based on projected distribution plans for vaccines as they become more widely available.

UTA students and employees are strongly encouraged to participate in COVID-19 vaccinations when available in their community and to monitor corresponding county public health websites for more information regarding eligibility and availability.
