Many public health officials are urging caution as we enter into flu season. To help keep you, your fellow Mavericks, and your loved ones safe and healthy, each of us must continue to follow public health guidelines and University protocols.

Plan ahead for spring semester

UT Arlington is planning for the possibility that the spring term may be similar to the fall, with a mixture of face-to-face, hybrid, and online courses. The University will continue to follow public health guidelines and remain flexible in meeting the needs of our students.

To help you get started, we have prepared a master list of spring 2021 courses. It details which courses UTA plans to offer in face-to-face, online, and hybrid formats.

Founders Day party

Celebrate UTA's 125th birthday with a photo with our newest Spirit Horse, games, prizes, and a birthday treat. The party is 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, outside the Health Services Center.

Hispanic-Latinx heritage

Amid a global pandemic, UT Arlington has organized virtual events—including bachata and salsa lessons, interactive trivia, and speaker sessions—to mark Hispanic and Latinx Heritage Month.

Early voting at MAC

The Maverick Activities Center will serve as an early voting polling place for the Nov. 3 elections. The poll will be open today, Tuesday, Oct. 13-Friday, Oct. 30. See the schedule.

Schedule flu shot

Make an appointment for a flu shot from Health Services by calling 817-272-2771. The vaccine is free with most insurance.

  • Oct. 20—Last day of classes for first eight-week term
  • Oct. 21—Final exams for first eight-week term; registration ends for second eight-week term
  • Oct. 22—First day of classes for second eight-week term
  • Oct. 22-23—Late registration
  • Oct. 26—Last day to drop classes for second five-week term; submit requests to advisor prior to 4 p.m.
  • Oct. 29—Census date for second eight-week term
  • Nov. 6—Last day to drop classes for fall semester; submit requests to advisor prior to 4 p.m.

Drive-in movie Saturday

Watch Clueless for free from the comfort of your vehicle Saturday, Oct. 17, in Lot 34, east of the West Campus Garage and The Commons. Gates open at 7:30 p.m. and the movie starts at 9 p.m.

Sailesh the Hypnotist

Catch one of the shows by Sailesh the Hypnotist at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, in the Rosebud Theatre of the University Center. Tickets are free but must be claimed at utatickets.com.

Student Organization Fair

Meet fellow students who share your interests by attending the Student Organization Fair featuring cultural organizations. The fair is 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, on the MavOrgs website.

Walk, run, bike, hike for free T

Get moving and log 300 minutes of activity in the Fall 2020 Recreation Movement and receive a UTA Recreation Movement T-shirt.

Digital footprints

When visiting websites, sending emails, or submitting information to online services, you are leaving a trail. The Office of Information Security says to know what the possible effects might be for leaving a digital footprint.

Home games on ESPN+

UTA's volleyball team will play league matches in two- and three-match series with no fans in attendance. All home games will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
