New rules implemented in residence halls to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission

Students returning to University housing for the fall 2020 semester should expect some changes to their housing, dining, and academic experience because of the coronavirus.

UTA is following local, state, and federal public health guidelines that address social distancing, limitations on mass gatherings, wearing a face covering, COVID diagnostic and surveillance testing, contact tracing, disinfection protocols, limitations on guests in student housing, and quarantine/isolation requirements.

UTA Central Library

Libraries makes adjustments for safety

UTA Libraries is preparing for the fall semester with changes to the library space, new hours, and new and updated services to better serve students and faculty.

The Libraries will only be open to active UTA students, faculty, and staff for the fall 2020 semester.

Floors three, four, and five of Central Library and both branch locations will remain closed until further notice.

Check the Mavs Back 2020 site for more stories on what to expect as UTA safely returns to campus for Fall 2020.

Limit exposure before returning to campus

Students are asked to limit social activities and exposure to outsiders for 14 days prior to returning to campus.

Combined with daily self-monitoring, wearing masks, and social distancing, laying low prior to returning to campus will help minimize the spread of the COVID-19 virus and ensure the Maverick community stays healthy.

You can check the Coronavirus and Fall 2020 Semester page, which is UTA’s official site for up-to-date information on campus operations during the COVID-19 pandemic.

A new semester, a steadfast commitment

"In a few short weeks, we will begin a new semester," Interim President Teik Lim said in a message Monday. "We’re all incredibly excited for an enriching experience this fall, despite these unusual times. To keep our campus community as safe and healthy as possible, it will require each one of us to do our part."
