UTA policy on Pass/Fail and drop date

Due to the transition from face-to-face classes to online learning and the hardships associated with the changes in learning environment caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the University has made changes to the Pass/Fail Policy and extended the drop date for the spring 2020 semester.

Among the new policies are:

  • The drop date has been extended to Tuesday, April 28, for all courses.
  • Students who choose a course to be graded Pass/Fail have until Tuesday, April 28, to make that election.
  • The decision on which classes are eligible for the Pass/Fail option will be made by each college/school’s curriculum committee.
  • Students must consult with their instructors and academic advisors before they make a decision to either drop a course or choose the Pass/Fail option.

Read more details about the Pass/Fail Policy.

If you have questions, please refer to the Pass/Fail FAQs or email viceprovost@uta.edu and provide your name, UTA ID, and majo

Parking refunds extended through summer

The University of Texas at Arlington is issuing additional refunds to students who purchased 2019-20 academic year parking permits.

UTA previously issued partial refunds for the dates March 16-May 15, which is the end of the spring 2020 semester. UTA also will issue refunds for permits that are active through Aug. 21, which is the end of the academic year.

UTA will credit each student’s account with the refund. If there are any outstanding university charges, the refund will be applied to those outstanding charges first. Any remaining funds after the outstanding charges are paid will then be refunded to the student. Parking permit refunds will not apply toward outstanding citations. Citations must be paid for separately.

Refunds could take up to 30 days to process.

Even though UTA is issuing refunds for student parking permits, all parking permits will remain valid until their expiration dates.

Email parking@uta.edu with questions about parking refunds.
