Faculty Academic Integrity Workshop

Take part in the Faculty Academic Integrity Workshop at noon Tuesday, April 19. The program will cover academic integrity information specifically related to exams (in person and online), proctoring exams in person, academic integrity trends over the last two to three years, and how to refer academic misconduct through the student conduct process.

Learn about recycling and sustainability and enjoy some games at the Earth Day Fair 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, on the University Center mall.

Medal of Honor recipient

Navy SEAL and Medal of Honor recipient Britt Slabinski will share his experiences in battle and as a medal honoree at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, in the SEIR building. Register to attend.

CEEI Startup Con, Open House

Interested in entrepreneurship and the UTA startup ecosystem? Come to the Center for Entrepreneurship and Economic Innovation's Startup Con and an Open House 3-6 p.m. Thursday, April 21, at the corner of UTA Boulevard and Center Street.

'Unexpected Encounters'

Kick off Asian American/Pacific Islander and Jewish-American Heritage Month with the panel discussion "Unexpected Encounters: Asian American and Jewish American Identities in Art and History." The hybrid program is 3:30-5:30 p.m. Thursday, April 21, in room 2102A and via Zoom.

Faculty Teaching in the Archives Grant

UT Arlington Libraries invites applications for the Faculty Teaching in the Archives Grant Program for the 2022-23 academic year.

The grant program is aimed at faculty who would like to design or invigorate an undergraduate or graduate course with unique content from UTA Libraries Special Collections.

Preference will be given to faculty proposals that utilize African American primary source materials or other primary sources that highlight the diversity found within Special Collections' materials to generate innovative primary source assignments and projects for students. The course must be taught in fall 2022, spring 2023, or summer 2023 semesters.

Applications are due Friday, May 27.

Reclaiming the Joy in Teaching

Make time for the UT System Lunch & Learn Series: Reclaiming the Joy in Teaching at noon Friday, April 22. The virtual program is framed around the adage of “putting on your oxygen mask first before helping others.”

Drone

Drone contest at stadium

Drones will be flying around Maverick Stadium for the Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) Innovation Showcase Saturday, April 23. Student teams solve real-world challenges by researching, designing, developing, integrating, and testing UAS hardware and software components.

NASA in Your Neighborhood

NASA in Your Neighborhood is a chance to learn more about the X-59 Quiet SuperSonic Technology aircraft that is in Fort Worth for ground testing. Register to engage with NASA at UTA Friday-Sunday, April 22-24.

Year-end transactions

The Division of Business Affairs will host a year-end prep session at 4 p.m. Monday April 25, on Teams. The session is to ensure anyone involved in year-end transactions understands the processes and deadlines.

Training on certification of qualifications

All full-time and part-time faculty and teaching assistants who teach a credit-bearing course or have direct instructional activity in a credit-bearing class are required to have an approved Certification of Qualifications and Credentials on file before they are hired.

If you hire faculty, join Toni Sol, vice provost for Faculty Affairs, for the training session. Register to attend either 10-11 a.m. Thursday, April 28, or 2-3 p.m. Wednesday, May 25.
