TCP timekeeping system starts Friday

In-person assistance and access to a computer for TCP training are available through 4:30 p.m. today, Thursday, March 31, in room 104 of Trinity Hall.

All UTA employees need to complete training for TCP, UTA’s new timekeeping system, before it launches on Friday, April 1. Beginning Friday, all time and leave will be submitted via TCP.

The TCP Canvas Training Support Teams channel is public, so anyone from UTA can join, no code required.

All employees' leave and work time for the month of March must be entered in UTShare by 10 a.m. Monday, April 4.

Best graduate programs

Several programs at UT Arlington moved up in the 2023 U.S. News & World Report Best Graduate School rankings, the latest sign of Maverick excellence in academics and research.

Holliday named Mellon Fellow

Kathryn Holliday, architecture professor and founding director of UT Arlington’s David Dillon Center for Texas Architecture, has been appointed a Mellon Fellow at Harvard University’s Dumbarton Oaks in the area of urban landscape studies.

Eastern European travel update

Travel for UTA to Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus is suspended until further notice. Travel to countries bordering Ukraine requires formal approval by the president. These include Hungary, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Georgia.

Opal Lee, the Grandmother of Juneteenth and nominee for the Nobel Peace Prize, will speak on the National Juneteenth Museum coming to Fort Worth 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, in the Fine Arts Building. The event will be livestreamed.

The Big Event

Faculty and staff can participate in The Big Event on Saturday, April 9, which includes 40 community service projects. A celebration for volunteers is 1-3 p.m. with complimentary lunch, entertainment, and activities.

DEI Professional Skill Building

Mental Health First Aid

Mental Health First Aid is a virtual workshop to help you assist someone experiencing a mental health or substance use-related crisis. The event is 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Friday, April 8. Register; attendance is limited.

Policy changes

AA-FT-PO-06 Endowed Chairs and Professorships Policy—This policy was updated to allow for up to 25% of the salary for an endowed chair/professor to be paid from an endowment, as allowed by UT System Regents Rules.

AA-PRS-PO-03 Courses Offered in Shortened Format Policy—This policy was updated to clarify the process for the request and approval process for courses offered in shortened format.

CO-CE-PO-06 UTA Drugs and Alcohol Policy—This policy was updated to combine the following policies and procedures:

  • CO-CE-PO-04 Drug Free Workplace Policy
  • CO-CE-PR-03 Alcohol and Drug Free Workplace Procedure
  • CO-CE-PR-04 Illicit Drugs and Alcohol Abuse Procedure

CO-CS-PR-13 Inclement Weather and Emergency Campus Closure Procedure—This procedure was updated to reflect current practices for emergency campus closures.

CO-ID-PR-03 Sponsored Affiliate Identification Cards (Mav Express ID) Procedure—This procedure was updated to reflect current University procedures.

CO-CS-PR-03 Tornado Procedure—This procedure was updated to reflect current University practice in the event of a tornado.

Electronic waste recycling

Bring your batteries, old electronics, toner cartridges, and other electronic waste to the e-waste recycling drive 2-4 p.m. Thursday, April 14, on the west side of the UC mall.

Lost or unavailable receipts

BF-PGS-F16 Lost or Unavailable Receipt Form addresses receipt issues where a document is lost, missing, or was never received for ProCard and Travel and Expense processing. An approved Business Affairs Exception Tracker request for receipt issues will no longer be needed going forward.

FANS cohort

Join your fellow Mavericks Saturday, April 9, for the return of the annual UTA Jazz Brunch at the Main Street Arts Festival in Fort Worth!

The UTA Jazz Ensemble, Jazz Orchestra, and Jazz Combo will perform live on the UTA Main Stage at 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 2 p.m.

Brunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the UTA Main Stage Hospitality Suite located at Ninth and Main streets. Tickets are $35 per person.
