Movin' Mavs take 10th national title
|
The Movin’ Mavs won its second consecutive national title and 10th overall Saturday at the National Intercollegiate Wheelchair Basketball Tournament at College Park Center.
The Movin’ Mavs entered the tournament as the No. 1 seed after finishing the regular season with a 10-2 record. The team won the championship 67-56 against Alabama, the team it beat in last year's title game.
No. 3 seed Lady Movin' Mavs defeated the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater 58-37 for third place.

Blaze Forward, Promise Plus

UTA's Blaze Forward program will cover 100% of tuition and mandatory fees for eligible undergraduate students. Funding comes from a variety of sources, including the University of Texas System's $300 million Promise Plus endowment.

Provost search listening sessions today, Tuesday
|
Two vitual listening sessions this week and your feedback will assist the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs Search Committee in identifying the characteristics you hope to see in candidates and finalists.
These sessions will operate similarly to town halls, with the majority of time dedicated to hearing questions and comments from attendees.

Academic integrity workshops this week
|
Two virtual workshops next week will update faculty members on academic integrity and the student conduct process.
Faculty Academic Integrity Workshop: General Trends will cover general academic integrity information, academic integrity trends, and how to refer academic misconduct through the student conduct process. The workshop is noon-1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 22.
Faculty Academic Integrity Workshop: Online Exams will cover the same topics specifically related to online exams. The program is at noon-1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 23.

Purchase order change
|
To improve contract compliance and spend management, purchase orders (PO) will now be required to make payments against many contracts for goods and services that were previously payable using a non-PO voucher.

Training session on certification of qualifications
|
All full-time and part-time faculty and teaching assistants who teach a credit-bearing course or have direct instructional activity in a credit-bearing class are required to have an approved Certification of Qualifications and Credentials on file before they are hired.
If you hire faculty, join Toni Sol, vice provost for Faculty Affairs, for the training session. Register to attend either 11 a.m.-noon Thursday, March 24; 10-11 a.m. Thursday, April 28; or 2-3 p.m. Wednesday, May 25.

Learn new TCP timekeeping system
|
Complete training for TCP, UTA’s new timekeeping system before TCP launches on Friday, April 1. This training in Canvas is required for all faculty and staff.
If you need in-person assistance, or need a computer to access the training class, dedicated support is available in Trinity Hall, room 104, at the following times:
- Wednesday, March 23, 8:30 a.m.-11 a.m.
- Thursday, March 24, 2 p.m.-4 p.m.
- Tuesday, March 29, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
