FBI Dallas to give demonstrations

As part of the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice’s annual Criminology and Criminal Justice Week, the FBI Dallas Evidence Response Team will have vehicles on campus 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Monday, March 7. The vehicles will be parked in the courtyard west of the Central Library and north of University Hall for demonstration purposes.

Finney recognized

UTA Police Officer Gregory Finney is the UT System Police Officer of the Month for March 2022. He has earned numerous commendations and spearheaded the Neighborhood Police Program for Centennial Court Apartments in 2021.

Street life

Ali Abolmaali, chair of the Civil Engineering Department and the Tseng Huang Endowed Professor of structural and applied mechanics, is leading a project with the city of Dallas to evaluate its roads and determine remaining service life.

Center for Rural Health and Nursing launched

The College of Nursing and Health Innovation has launched the Center for Rural Health and Nursing to enhance access to health care for Texas’ rural communities and to improve rural nursing education.

Women’s History Month

Women’s History Month at UT Arlington offers an opportunity to study and celebrate the vital contributions of women in history, society, and academia.

Statistics and Human Rights

Mary Gray, a trailblazer for women in STEM fields, will speak on "Statistics and Human Rights" Tuesday, March 8. Her talk is part of the College of Science’s Distinguished Women in Science Speaker Series and Women's History Month.

Many faculty and staff have received emails requesting a meeting to be set for a one-on-one consultation regarding your retirement benefit questions. The subject of the email will be something similar to “Retirement and Pension Meetings for University of Texas Employees”.

We are not advising you in any way to use them or not to use them, but please use discretion and understand that this email is not a University-endorsed email, or sent by a University-endorsed vendor.

Mavs get SBC honors

Sun Belt Conference basketball honors included Lady Mavs player Starr Jacobs as Player of the Year and coach Shereka Wright as Coach of the Year. Jacobs made the All-SBC first team and Terryn Milton is on the second team. UTA's David Azore made the men's All-SBC first team.

COVID-19 vaccines, boosters on campus

UTA has scheduled additional on-campus clinics to offer the COVID‑19 vaccines and booster, free of cost, to UTA students, employees, and their families and dependents. The next are Wednesdays, March 16 and March 30.

Each clinic will operate on a walk-in-only basis 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in Room 102B in the Maverick Activities Center.

At UTA’s on-campus clinics, operated in partnership with Walmart, individuals 12 and older can receive first and second doses of both the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines. Booster doses are available for all eligible individuals.
